About Me

My name is Alana Starr Austin. I'm eighteen years old my birthday is in July and I was born in Warren Ohio. I moved to Niles and graduated from Niles McKinley High School. I have two older brothers; Sean who is twenty-one and Jamelle who is twenty-seven. Also, I have a little sister Elise who is three. I am really close to my brother Sean, our friends call us twins because we look alike and we are always together.
Dance is my favorite activity. Actually, dance is my life it's my world. I've been dancing since I was five. I have studied many different types of dance; such as, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, and Hip-Hop. My favorite style is Hip-Hop, for three years I was in a hip-hop company. It was the best years in my life so far, the company was called Datz D'Nation:Phunk and it was in Cleveland. We performed all over Cleveland at different festivals, concerts, and shows.
My favorite music to listen to is Hip-Hop and R&B. My favorite R&B artist is Ne-yo and Ginuwine and my favorite Hip-Hop artist is Lil'Wayne. My favorite color is blue well any shade of blue really. My favorite genre of movies are Horror, Comedy, and Action. My favorite movies are Pirates of the Caribbean I, II, and III.
Here at Kent, I really want to be a dance major. When I re-audition in April I'll find out. If I don't make it then I'm going to be a math major because I love math and it comes really easy to me. After I graduate I want to move to either L.A. or New York City. If I move to New York I would try to be on Broadway because I also enjoy musical theatre. There is a dance center that I danced at when I was in New York so I would try to work there. If I lived in L.A. I would focus on hip-hop. I want to be a dancer for as long as I can then I want to be a choreographer.
